Further B-6 thoughts

Since I get so many questions on B-6, I thuoght that I would add to the site this interesting, and readable, article on B-6, its purpose, its effect, and what defficiency does.

In addition, I read some anecdotal notes from physicians who recommend 1/4 to 1/10th as much p5p as B-6. In short, that p5p is absorbed much more completely as it does not need to be converted

Thank you for the link and really, the whole blog. I started taking a B multi vitamin after reading about it here and it has helped with my moods considerably. Could it be mental? Maybe but it's helping my depression and honestly thats all that matters. Thank you for being so frank and open. I am very intrigued by your journey.
Respectfully,
Meagan

Wow,

Hey thanks Meagan. I am kinda speechless. I mean, I guess I started this for myself, and it has become something I do so that other people can find what they need, but it is always a humbling experince to realize that people do read it and take somethign away.

If it helps any, I use a standard processed B vitamin sold by MegaFood. Stadard processed means that there are no pharmacuetically split B derivatives and that the Bs all come from food sources. I changed to that when I found I could not, when ill, tolerate a normal B multi. I esperimented and found out that I could not then tolerate b-5. Who knew? Anyway, I can take the Standard processed vitamins on an empty stomach, whereas the pharmacuetical grade pills make me a wee bit naseaus.

Again, thanks for writing.
