Florastor

I think I neglected to tell you all that I began FLorastor last week.

Florastor was prescribed by the PTC, in particular Ms. Dawn Boyd, to address what she thought to be indication of a yeast overgrowth. Her diagnosis relied upon a CDSA that I performed several months ago. It was a demeaning test, but so far the PTC has been nothing but helpful, so I played ball. The results came back indicating some yeast in the sample. One of three samples. That, apparently, is enough for Ms. Boyd to move forward with prescribing Florastor.

Q) What is Florastor®?
A) Florastor is a natural probiotic that helps destroy pathogenic (bad) bacteria in your gut (bowels).

Ok. The product information continues to instruct that the Saccharomyces boulardii can survive the trasit through the stomach lining and therefore can arrive in the gut, ready to do battle with evil dysbiosis. How rousing.

I am to take it twice a day for 8 weeks. I pay nearly a hundred dollars for the privilege.

Oh, and it hurts. Not all the time, but right now, it feels like someone has kicked me in the kidneys with cowboy boots. The cockroach kicking kind. I also am flushing on my chest. Not much. Really, its pretty mild, but still, I thought I would share. FLorastor could be comming to a bowel near you soon.

My faith in pan-candiasis theory, that is that nearly all undiagnosable body illnesses can be attributed by candida, is eroding almost daily. And has been for a while. I have never met anyone who has been "cured" this way, or experienced a verifiable reduction in symptoms. I am told that feeling retched is good, that it is die off, and that feeling great is good, as it indicates it is also working, and, presumably, everything in between. Bah.

Well, like I said, for as good as the PTC is, they are cheap, and they are due a dead end every now and again. When I think of the charming dead ends that the more conventional medical field sent me down, I think I can gobble a little Florastor.
